SMPAA sprang from a community theater and concert effort in the early eighties. SMPAA started “Sights and Sounds of Christmas” and “Summer in the Park” some 23 years ago. “Sights and Sounds” happens the first weekend in December on the river and has long since become an entity of its own. SMPAA continues the “Summer in the Park” free concert series from the first Thursday evening of June to the middle of August. We always promote area talent and work with Parks and Rec. and the city to provide a variety of quality summer entertainment.
A new outreach sponsored by SMPAA is the Second Act Troupe. This is a group of 55+ actors and directors. They perform at the Price Seniors Center and area venues. The link for the Price Seniors Center can be found on our sponsors page.
Your participation in SMPAA activities is not dependent upon being a member, but SMPAA is dependent upon its members to do what it does. Volunteers are always sought and welcomed.
